This poem by Lois seems more timely every day. Apparently the celeb rags have their Britney obits written and ready to go....
"I wrote this poem about Britney about five or six years ago. How old would she have been? I saw her perform, at the music awards and I was appalled. She looked like a little girl. I can remember talking to Anne about it - we were both really saddened by the whole thing. You were just thinking where are her parents? Where are her parent facsimilies? Where is society? Where are we? The same argument came up - Britney is her own person - she has to take responsibility for herself - and me arguing - how can she if we have never taught to be more than an object of our fantasies."
Any way here it is - it usually gets a few laughs, but I really mean what I wrote. I still do.

wow, powerful poem. you have captured what I always felt about brittney when the whole 'school girl gone bad' concept was erected with her face on it......i pity her now, so many contradictory beliefs she has swallowed are burning her out
