48th PARALLEL PROJECT

FOR WOMEN (AND MEN!) WHO DARE TO CALL THEMSELVES FEMINISTS

A bit about the new Lady Like project

A friend recommended I start a blog to get more traffic to the Etsy shop.
It has quickly turned into a full blown addiction! I am really enjoying writing about people making things happen. What started as a few photos that inpsire me and sharing a few links to resources that have helped me and topics of inspiration and interest for me: Vintage, designing and Burlesque, has spiralled out of control.
Now I am interviewing all kinds of people who inspire me, making full on shopping guides and shopping my mind off online to showcase products and outfits by great designers and researching resources.
AND soon, in a matter of days, I will be posting the first photo series of our first extreme 12 hour make over, long to short haircut with a photoshoot covering all eras of looks, Twiggy, Edie Sedgwick, Louise Brooks, Indie hipster looks, Agyness Dynn, Lady Gaga to name a few inspirations for the shoot....
I am constantly keeping my eyes open for new designers, boutiques, performers and people of interest to interview or fashion sites, send me a message if you have ideas,
I would love to hear from you!
Now I am blogging about blogging... It's fun!

HOUSEKEEPING

Our name was inspired by a survey of elected women in governments worldwide showing Canada in the disappointing position of #48. And over the past two years we've dropped to 50 and risen to 47....
We're a politically motivated, artistically driven platform for feminists interested in challenging the status quo.
We invite filmmakers, artists and activists to express themselves and contribute their art and ideas.
We're committed to showcasing female artists and to connecting with women around the world.
We believe we have a responsibility to support womens' struggle for human rights and equality globally.
We also believe in using art and entertainment to mix it up in the political world.
Our logo is by young Newfoundland artist Isabelle Riche. Welcome!
Please drop me a line here, anytime!
Cheers, Rosemary
