Invisible food recognises that “the logic of the market leads to mass starvation”, as Mumia Abu-Jamal wrote about recent hikes in food prices… Continue

What effect does this information obsolecence has on our relationships to our elders? On top of being elderly, women suffer a further marginalisation in a society that doesn't value their contributions as women and mothers. On top of these two factors, Black and Asian communities suffer even more marginalisation. Look in… Continue

*An anarcho-feminist, southern hemisphere, magical story of one woman, a Protectoress and the art of changing consciousness at will* An Indigenous Some The pavement is cooling after the blaze of the afternoon. 10 centavo pieces become part of tarmac, dropped, left to reel down the street before being stamped by a passerby into the scorch-softened street. What is it with all these (((((?

When I chose the name for the openbracket site and as a name I like to write with, openbracket sprang to mind and I’ve never really thought through what this was all about? There was something about the concreteness of the symbol which appealed but thinking through it today, there’s something about the curve/kerv that I like. HOUSEKEEPING

Our name was inspired by a survey of elected women in governments worldwide showing Canada in the disappointing position of #48. And over the past two years we've dropped to 50 and risen to 47....
We're a politically motivated, artistically driven platform for feminists interested in challenging the status quo.
We invite filmmakers, artists and activists to express themselves and contribute their art and ideas.
We're committed to showcasing female artists and to connecting with women around the world.
We believe we have a responsibility to support womens' struggle for human rights and equality globally.
We also believe in using art and entertainment to mix it up in the political world.
Our logo is by young Newfoundland artist Isabelle Riche. Welcome!
Please drop me a line here, anytime!
Cheers, Rosemary
