Event Description

Women, and children 12 years old and younger meet at Bannerman Park at 6:40pm.

March leaves the park at 7:00pm sharp.

Bring along noise makers, flashlights, banners, national/provincial flags to hold as you march. Wear a purple ribbon to show you support efforts to end sexual violence.

Tee-shirts and other special items will be available for purchase. Transportation is available for people with mobility concerns; please call the office at 747-7757 in advance for details and arrangements.

The Public Rally will be at 8:00 pm at City Hall, New Gower Street. Come down and listen to Frances Ennis speak (an Order of Canada recipient!) and hear the Take Back the Night song performed this year by the talented Morag Ryan.

Everyone is welcome to attending the public rally and the following public gathering at 8:30.

Our name was inspired by a survey of elected women in governments worldwide showing Canada in the disappointing position of #48. And over the past two years we've dropped to 50 and risen to 47....
We're a politically motivated, artistically driven platform for feminists interested in challenging the status quo.
We invite filmmakers, artists and activists to express themselves and contribute their art and ideas.
We're committed to showcasing female artists and to connecting with women around the world.
We believe we have a responsibility to support womens' struggle for human rights and equality globally.
We also believe in using art and entertainment to mix it up in the political world.
Our logo is by young Newfoundland artist Isabelle Riche. Welcome!
